i'll admit it.

I think it's nasty when women don't have their toenails painted.  (Ironically, mine aren't painted right now and it's been driving me crazy.)

Sometimes I feel really awkward hanging out with a group of people and their kids, because Ben and I don't have kids of our own.  Sometimes it doesn't make me feel awkward at all.

I'm not very good at apologizing.

I really, really love history and I desperately want to go to Springfield, IL to check out the Abe Lincoln museum.

YouTube videos put together with fart sounds make me laugh so hard I cry.  (Check this one out because it's a real gem.)  I'm immature.

I like to grab a handful of Hershey's milk chocolate chips whenever I'm craving something sweet.

You won't find leggings, chevron, or mint in my closet.  They're all too trendy, and I don't think leggings qualify as pants.

I sold a bunch of wedding gifts that we've had boxed up for almost 2 years on eBay last week.

Pinterest probably sucks in too much of my time.  Same with Instagram.

I hate drinking water that comes out of a bathroom faucet.

Whenever I go to the mall alone, I always stop at a jewelry store and look at rings.  1) Because I want to see what's out there, and 2) they always offer to clean whatever jewelry you're wearing.

I realized that I'm not very open on my blog (For good reason. Some people share way too much on their blogs, and I don't want to be that person.) and this is my attempt at mixing it up.

I'll confess...I hardly ever listen to the radio anymore. Which means that I hadn't heard Katy Perry's latest song until a week or two ago.  (Not a tragic thing, really.  Albeit, I do like the song.)  After looking through a few videos, I think the hospital version definitely tops all of the others.  Enjoy!

I did a terrible thing today.  I made cupcakes to take to work tomorrow for a co-worker's birthday.  But, you see, I have a cold.  I did make sure to wash my hands a million times and not breath on anything.  Pray for the health of 15+ people, will ya?

My professor for my Parenting & Child Guidance class asked us all in class today to take ten minutes and write a letter to our future firstborn.  If you think it's super easy to write a letter to someone who doesn't yet exist, you're wrong.

#1.  I could not for the life of me think of how to start this letter. 

Dear future baby,
Dear _______,
Oh hey there!
Hi.  I'm your mom.
'Sup.

I figured it'd be safer just to skip that part for now.

#2.  What was I supposed to talk about?

This is me writing you a letter...
I think your father is attractive.
Could you maybe wait for Dad and I to pay off the car before you come?
Babies are cute.  I hope you're cute and grow hair before you're three.
I shouldn't have worn a dress today because this classroom is freezing!

How in the world was I going to fill ten whole minutes?

I figured ending with just a "Love," was perfectly fine.


Okay, so all kidding aside, it wasn't a terribly easy assignment at the beginning but things slowly began to pick up.  After I figured out a greeting and what general direction I wanted to take, I literally felt like I could have filled over an hour of things I want that future child to know.  Words of advice, or telling that baby about me and who I am, or sharing the things I love with him/her.  Telling him/her about the wonderful people he/she will be associated with, and what great examples they are.  Or telling him/her about how I won't be the perfect mom, but I'll try to do my very best.

And I might have teared up a little while pouring my heart into that letter today,
because that future baby will be loved and so very, very wanted.
