here's to trying something new.

In the past few weeks, I've had the opportunity to try some new things.  Things like cliff jumping, shooting a gun, couch shopping, The Cheesecake Factory, fixing up an old piece of furniture, making apple pie, trying a new frozen yogurt place, our very own family Olympics (complete with a closing ceremonies and medals) with my siblings, and camping included in tonight's plans.  And it's all been a blast.

I think a lot of the time, we get set in our routines and rarely take a little time to go try something new; something that pushes our limits.  We get used to eating at the same places, or doing the same things for fun over and over again.  Personally, I get a little sick of the monotony.  So trying all of these new things has been a blast, and I hope that B and I can keep it up once we get settled in St. Louis.

What have you been wanting to try?  If anything came to mind, get out there and try something you've never done before!  (If you absolutely hate it, well, at least you can say you've tried it.  And if it's something dangerous and you hate it, you'll have a great story to tell your kiddos one day. ;)

So here's to trying something new over the weekend!

  1. oh man, I wish I would have saved the skydiving for this weekend so that I could have said "I'm going skydiving!!!" in this comment. Now I can only say "I'm eating fair food". Which is probably almost as (or more) risky.
